The Most Thankful Thing by Lisa McCourt

Mrs. Fala's second graders have been learning about the three different types of connections a reader can make while they read. In addition, they have been learning about how this can help them better understand and enjoy what they are reading. This week we read The Most Thankful Thing by Lisa McCourt which is a sweet story about a mom and a daughter who share stories about what they are thankful for in their lives. I would like Mrs. Fala's second graders to share a connection they made with this story in celebration of our upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

  20. These are great connections second graders! I have a text to text connection with this book. It reminded me of the book Guess How Much I Love You because the mom is sharing with her child how special she is to her. I was also thinking about the author's purpose of this story. Do you think it is to entertain or inform?
